This first
edition, ITALY, chronicles a photographic journey across the
land of dolce vita through the eyes of 3 photographers:
Wei Wong, Dale
MacMillan, and Jason Johnson.
From the quiet canals of Venice to the iconic Colosseum, from
a sleepy Sicilian fishing village to the birthplace of the
Renaissance, these startling images capture the soul of a country
that defies description.
The idea for "Living the Dream: Italy" was born when
Jason moved to Italy to play American Football for the Catania
Elephants.
Dale and Wei
were not far behind, and a whirlwind two week adventure took
them from the island of Sicily in the south,
north to the Eternal City of Rome, through the Tuscan hills
to the medieval towns of Florence and Sienna,
along the famed Cinque Terre clinging to the Italian Riviera,
and finally to the canals of Venice.
Their experience was epic, as were the images they captured.
The trio are working to establish "Living the Dream"
as an ongoing series of fine art photography from journeys around
the world.
The opening night of this 1st showcase was on Friday, February
6th and it was a fantastic success!
Authentic Italian appetizers from Sorentino's Cafe were served
along with fantastic wine from the Fabiano Winery located in
Sona.
The artists were also on hand to answer questions about their
work and share stories from their travels.
Thank you to all those who were able to attend!
